hey hey hey! just so you know, in the last 4 days i've stayed in Kampung Naga (which is literally translated as Kampung Naga. don't ask me where that name came from. i don't really think indonesia has any legend about dragon, but anyway... back to business) which is one of my school's activity. we have to make a research about this village by staying with the local villager and observe the way they live. you indonesians must at least have heard about Kampung Naga and how the villagers refuse to live in a modern way and thus they refuse to use electricity. i know it sounds a bit insane to think that there are people still thinking that way in this era, but yes, it is a fact. and you can imagine how I have to live there for 4 days without electricity.
first... talking about the bathroom :D this is my favorite part of the story because many of my friends refused to go here from the very start because... well you'll know when you see this picture... the bathroom looks like this
you can't even call this a bathroom... this is the spot where you can do your number one and number two business. well if you think this is bad, wait till you see the inside of itand yes. we have to aim right to make it fall into the hole. excuse me for the words, but i don't know any other words to describe it. i know it seems like a small one, but somehow we (as in my friends and i) manage to do it :DV . to disgust you all a little bit, i'll describe it in a more specific way >:) . if you look a little closer, you can see many types of mushroom and algae grows on the bamboo pole and God knows with what they feed themselves. well here's the funny part. somehow, one of my friends slipped and somehow managed to get her foot stuck inside the hole and you can imagine what her foot looked like after she got out from the hole D: but anyway, instead of freaking out, she laughed a lot and she said "my foot doesn't stink!". well bless you my friend :) . oh and one more. there's a boy in the group who lost his cell phone twice in the past time, and his folks said that they won't buy him an expensive one until he managed to keep his 3rd cell phone safe for at least 2 years. but while doing his number 2... his cell slipped and fell into the pond D: . watch out now people. maybe you'll get lucky and when you cook your fish, you can found his cell in the belly of the fish :)oh and btw, i managed to survive not doing the number 2! yeay for me. well actually it's a funny story too. one of my friend somehow conviced me by saying "if you don't do the number 2, you don't really live here!" or something like that, and that saying got me to think that i have to do it. and when i was about to do it, i had put my trousers down and when i looked down, i saw two friggingly big black catfish aggresively trying to eat something i'm about to drop and they succesfully surprised me and made me lost my appetite to do it. bloody hell for the catfish. i'm planning not to eat them for a very loong time. but... oh well :D
btw, i have to tell you about the cooking here. it's not like there's a speciality food here, it's the same thing that i eat in my house. but i don't know why, whether because it's the aura here, or the fact that the ingredients were fresh because there aren't any refrigerator there, but i can't stop eating there! especially the sambel... thinking about it just makes me want to go there again...
i went to the river and crossing the field. the scenery is very beautiful you just want to take so many pictures there. but, considering there's no electricity there, i couldn't spend my camera's battery recklessly. well here's the photo i'd like to share
it's been a very nice trip and this is just a fabulous one of a life time experience. :)
many thanks for anyone who made this trip happened!
and to end this entry, i want to show you my mother's supposed-to-be-surprise-gift for her upcoming birthday on 29th April. she doesn't know this blog, so i guess it's safe to upload the picture here :)
finally! one decent laptop to share for the family~ it's so small you just want to crush it with your palm. kidding~ it's a touchscreen btw, but i don't think the ram is big enough to open iTunes, mozilla, ms word, ms power point, and photoshop at the same time. too bad.
